Shapefile setup error |
13 years 1 month ago |
When I'm setting up the shapefile map in the data editor, I'm getting a Microsoft Visual Basic "run-time error 1004" after I choose the ID column I want in the .dbf file. The file name doesn't contain any special characters and the file path is not too long. Any ideas as to what the problem is? Thanks.

Drupal set up |
13 years 1 month ago |
Hey there,
I am in the early stages of implementing StatPlanet Plus to use as a visual database for some of our government data. We're currently using a website managed through Drupal, and I followed all the steps in the FAQ section to add a sample map to the site to test it out but I can't see the option to add the location where I saved the files (i.e. I am stuck in step 5 below as per attached picture). I suspect I will be posting here often...
Thanks! Drupal 7

Import - Custom Legends import issue |
13 years 1 month ago |
Hello,
While importing data, the Legends data is not importing properly into the Editor file (under "MAP").
Imported as : 0=[0xff0000] 1=[0xff6633] 2=[0xff9933] 3=[0xffcc66] 4=[0xffff00] 5=[0xccff66] 6=[0x99ff33] 7=[0x00ff00] 8=[0x00cc00]
Should be : 0=[0xff0000][9] 1=[0xff6633][8] 2=[0xff9933][7] 3=[0xffcc66][6] 4=[0xffff00][5] 5=[0xccff66][4] 6=[0x99ff33][3] 7=[0x00ff00][2] 8=[0x00cc00]
Thanks!

Map legend: how to set default custom value ranges |
13 years 1 month ago |
I realize we have three options for setting data ranges in a map legend (estimate best val distrib; max/min val; or manually by clicking the legend box on the UI).
But is there a way to fix a specific custom value for all or some of the ranges? E.g.,
-
I've loaded % change data by country and only need 3 ranges. I'd like the middle one to always be -0.5 to 0.5 so anytime a user runs StatPlanet (locally or web) they would have that value fixed.
-
This way I can standardize the interpretation and analysis regardless of what region or data set the user is...

Displaying hyperlinks in online version |
13 years 1 month ago |
Dear all,
I have added a country-specific hyperlink (in HTML format) in the row beneath the country name in the 'import' sheet of the data editor. This shows up as plain text on the offline version when the mouse hovers over the country on the map, but when I load the same data.csv file into the online version, no link (or even text of the link) appears.
Is there something else that I need to do in the data editor to get the link displayed (and hopefully functional!) in the online version of StatPlanet? I have StatPlanet Plus if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance... |

Could you help me about displaying Thai character on StatPlanet ? |
13 years 2 months ago |
I've followed your Non-Latin character guide but It's still doesn't show Thai character within the map. It's only show Thai character in right click menu. However for tool-tip text and map label, It show my Thai character as blank.
In setting.txt, Thai characters are shown correctly
Thank you in advance

HELP: Cannot run StatPlanet web |
13 years 2 months ago |
When I try to run StatPlanet from Dropbox or other http location I get the following error message: "This page requires Flash Player version 9.0.45 or higher", but I have Flash Player 11.7.7 running on my machine.
The error is consistent across browsers, whether I run "StatPlanet_IE_security_bypass.html" or "StatPlanet.html."
If I try to run "StatPlanet.swf" the error message is "Unable to load content.swf."
If I try to run "content.swf" it just displays the the large Stat Planet logo across the screen (not grayed out) but never finishes displaying the map.

Lost Shapefile Boundaries in SPP3.2 |
13 years 2 months ago |
I have been using StatPlanet Plus very successfully using a shapefile to display multiple layers of data for different levels of detail for a specific area. It works by setting MAP-ND-TR to TRUE and then setting up the data file to only select parts of the complete image for differing levels of detail.
I have just been trying out SPP 3.2 as the Story features look interesting and I have loaded up my previous 3.1 version shapefile maps and data / settings. It all worked very well except for one thing: the boundaries for the shapefiles have disappeared so contiguous areas with same... |

Map legend modification |
13 years 2 months ago |
Dear Users,
I would like to add commas for the values in the map legend in the bottom left (e.g., for >12000000, make it >12,000,000) so that the viewer can more quickly figure out what the values are. Is it possible? Thank you for your help!
Best,
Sergio
