Showing ''No Data'' |
13 years 5 months ago |
Hi,
I am using 'StatPlanet Plus'. In the StatPlanet Guidebook, it is said that when no data is availeble for an indicator, the map shows data for 'the year closest to the previously selected year for which data is available'. But, of course, that is not the right data to show. I have tried putting 'no data' in the data column, but it does not help. If I put '0', then it shows '0' in the map as well, but obviously, '0' and 'no data' are not same either.
Is there any possibility that it shows nothing or just 'no data' instead of a wrong data? .
Thanks and Regards, ... |

default year for time series |
13 years 5 months ago |
Hi Frank,
With time series data, I am trying set a default year for any given category. The software seems to default to the most recent year (as expected). However, when I try changing this under the options column, e.g. y=[2007-2008], this doesn't seem to change anything. Furthermore, I noticed that the default year changes on toggling between different groups of categories, e.g. it may start with latest year (which is 2011-2012 in my dataset) but then suddenly switch over to an earlier year during the session. Is this a known problem is it more likely I am doing something wrong... |

Periods of several years |
13 years 5 months ago |
Hi Frank,
I know you have addressed the question about how to handle monthly or quarterly data, but is there anyway to include data that covers multiple years? For instance, if I have an indicator that covers the period from 2003 to 2006, can StatPlanet handle that as a block of time or else represent every year in that period as the same number? Or can it not process this in any way?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, regarding exporting maps as an image what would be optimal size for a regular 14 MS Word document? And is is it better to save it as a JPEG or PNG?

Duplicated indicator names on import |
13 years 6 months ago |
Hi
When I import using the data editor, each indicator name is duplicated. For example the name 'subscribers' imports as 'subscribers subscribers' and the same is true for every indicator. These then flow through to the flash file. Any ideas on how to prevent please? I'm using StatPlanet Plus and Excel 2010.
Thanks
Mike

Data importing |
13 years 6 months ago |
Hi,
I am trying to import multiple category data, as you suggested, I save each category as a separate excel file. One of them was imported automatically, the other one was not, it can not find the indicator and ask me to add headers/variables in the import name sheet, then it can be imported. Could you tell me why is this? We plan to update our data once a week, so I am trying to do this completely automatically.
Thank you,
Ying

Trendline error meaage |
13 years 6 months ago |
Hi,
My data is in weeks, e.g. week 1-53 in 2012 and I just want to display these 53 weeks in 2012. I imported as you suggested, 2001-2053 as years. Then I play the trendline, it displayed fine. Then I changed the 2001-2053 back to weeks 1-53 in editor, when I chose trendline and mouse over any of the region, it gave me error message:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
