How to use 9 digits in StatPlanet Plus?

Dear Frank,

I already download the StatPlanet Plus and try it. But there is still a consideration on how to use 9 digit numbers to express Millions, like 9.999.999

I already try to insert on Import Data with 999999999, but only show me 999999.999.

Please help,
Thanks,

Hi,
Importing large numbers should work fine, but I am assuming you mean how the numbers are displayed in StatPlanet? StatPlanet automatically divides by a million for large numbers, which make them more readable, and adds 'million' after the number. To show the full number, please see "no division" in the following part of the user guide: http://www.statsilk.com/files/resources/User_Guide_StatPlanet.htm#_Toc35...

If it is an actual issue with importing the number, it could be due to the dots in the number, i.e. by removing the dots so it is 9999999 rather than 9.999.999 it should work.

I hope that helps.

Best,

Frank

Hi Frank,

thanks for your response. Yes that is what i expect, displaying 9.999.999. I already try it but still with no luck. It seems because the value changed to Text after i click Save Data. Actually this is happening when i try to put different value in different sub-category.

I try to put Numbers in Sub Category A, and Percentage in Sub Category B. But when i click save data, all values changed to Text automatically.

I had try blocking all cell with Numbers (that changed to Text) to Numbers, but after saving the data it returns to Text.

Thanks, (my apologize for disturbing you)

Hi,

Indeed they are formatted as text, as StatPlanet reads a CSV file not an Excel file, and any Excel number formatting is lost. However, I am not sure I understand the issue - as when it is converted to text the number should remain the same? Could you describe what is happening? e.g. what is the number originally, and what is the number when converted to text?

The exception is percentages - for more details please see http://www.statsilk.com/support/forum/percentages-get-imported-text

Best,

Frank
