| Unable to deal with scientific notation and large numbers? | 14 years 2 months ago |
I've been really enjoying playing around with the StatPlanet software, and hope to shortly publish something on my website using it. However, the dataset I'm wanting to publish has a very broad range, with values from 8 to 3.24E+65. My data is all in a suitable format and the import data macro has no troubling handling it correctly. However, when I run the flash part it all falls down when it encounters scientific notation. Hi, |
| Custom regions for a newbie | 14 years 2 months ago |
Hi - I'm attempting to set up custom regions in StatPlanet data editor. In the FAQs it details adding the region you'd like to the very last column of row 2 (country list) and adding data. This works and I see the data.csv file now has my region, but I'd like the StatPanet exe to allow me to select this in the drop down. How can I do this? |
| Percentages get imported as text | 14 years 3 months ago |
I am working with 4 indicators and the 50 states on the U.S. map. Three of my columns of data in the original excel file are formatted as percentages, yet when I import they all get changed to text (except the first one, Alabama). I have tried changing these values to percentages from within the data editor, but whenver I press "save data" they convert back to text. |

Hello |
| Dates stripped out on import | 14 years 3 months ago |
I am trying to import a straightforward Excel file that has 4 indicators, 4 dates, and several countries. When I import, no matter what dates I put in or what format the dates are in (number, text, date), the dates are all stripped and replaced with "2007" following the import. My dates happen to be month specific. I thought perhaps that was a problem so I experimented, replacing all dates with just years (fake, of course, which is undesireable). Still, every year got stripped out and replaced with "2007" (which isn't in my data set). I've also run tests where I... |
