Dear Frank,
I'm dealing with a lot of subcategories and the ones at the end of the list are not visible, they go down way beyond the size of the interface. Is there any possibility that the program shows them in two columns of something like that?
Regards.
Other thing, I'm trying to change the background of the GUI to white (the color behind the map) I have changed the variables MAP-BG-I and MAP-BG-O and doesn't seem to do the trick. Do you know why or which variable do I have to change?
Sorry but doubts keep appearing. Is it possible to have to different colors for the map when having two different categories? If so, how?
Regarding the map background color, yes that's MAP-BG-I and MAP-BG-O. It is white by default, color 0xFFFFFF, so there is no need to change it - unless you are referring to the color of the panels. In that case see the section 'Interface colors', in particular GUI-BODY-CLR and GUI-BODY2-CLR.
Regarding map colors - are you referring to the background? No this cannot be changed for different indicators / categories. Regarding map legend colors by indicator, please see http://statsilk.com/files/resources/User_Guide_StatPlanet.htm#_Toc356607135
Regarding sub-categories, I could suggest further dividing them into sub-sub-categories (using the >> characters, i.e.:
category
>sub-category
>>sub-category
For an example, please see http://statsilk.com/maps/statplanet-world-bank-open-data which has hundreds of sub-sub-categories
Best,
Frank
Hello Frank,
yes I have under MAP-BG-I and MAP-BG-O the color 0xFFFFFF but on the background behind the map the color is gray, any ideas why?
Other thing, I have different map layers, each layer is a category and they have the same indicators. I have been trying to increase the zoom of them differently by increasing the zoom and moving them and then copying the coordinates and zoom in the format x=[x position] y=[y position] z=[zoom] in the MAP column in the same row as the indicator (have also tried in the same row of the category for the first year) and it does not work. Could you help me out?
Thanks!
Regards
Hi,
You can change the zoom for a particular category, please see the user guide section "Change region" http://www.statsilk.com/files/resources/User_Guide_StatPlanet.htm#_Toc35.... This allows you to set a particular map region when selecting a category, and it will zoom to the coordinates set for that map region.
Regarding the background, I don't know what the issue is. You are not referring to the color of the map areas themselves? (which would be variables 'MAP-NTRL' for non-selected regions, and 'MAP-ND' for no data). Would you be able to provide a screenshot otherwise?
Best,
Frank
yes of course. Do you have an e mail address where I could send it?
Hi,
You should have received an e-mail from me a few days ago.
Best,
Frank
How can I get the category and sub category names displayed in the final maps?
The category / sub-category names cannot be displayed in the exported map. To display it in an interface drop-down menu, you would need to go to the StatPlanet Data Editor sheet 'settings', and set the variable V-IND-O to TRUE. You can also display the indicator name as a map title, by setting the variable MAP-TITLE to: auto
The indicator names could then be modified/edited by yourself in the StatPlanet Data Editor import sheet, to include the (sub)-category name.
Thanks for the solution. This works fine.
Hope you can help me further on another bottleneck that I am stuck on.
I am using quarters as time series. they are as 2011Q1, 2011Q2, ... 2013Q3. The issue is that the line graphs take the reverse time series always. That is the horizontal axis starts at 2013Q3 and ends at 2011Q1. I want it to start at 2011Q1 and end at 2013Q3.
Any suggestions by anybody are highly appreciated.
Hi,
Thanks for your message. Regarding the new issue - in the data file, data needs to be ordered from the latest time period (in the first rows) to the oldest time period (in the last rows). If it is reversed in the graph, I presume in your data file it is currently ordered from the oldest to the latest. If you reverse that in the data file, it should reverse in the graph as well.
I hope that helps,
Frank
Thanks Frank..thats a great help.
Hello,
Thanks very much for all...
when I put 'auto' for MAP-TITLE, in statplanet I see 'auto' as title :-( and not the indicator name as title! What to do?
Many thanks
I tried but problem not resolved for now :-(
Hi Nour,
I noticed you are using StatPlanet, which supports map titles but not the automatic generation of map titles. This is unfortunately only supported in StatPlanet Plus. Sorry about that.
Best,
Frank
