Custom shpfile region wholly within a region | 9 years 9 months ago |
I have set up a custom shapefile for use with StatPlanet Plus and all data is loaded fine and displays in Statplanet Plus as expected, with the exception of one problem: When you have a region wholly contained within another region (imagine a city perimeter surrounded by an entire county, it is not possible to solely highlight the "city" region on the map (the whole of the county including the city is highlighted, with corresponding data in the tooltip for the county). How can this problem be overcome? The data for the "city" region are loaded within StatPlanet Plus... |

Data Import Not Recognizing Countries | 11 years 7 months ago |
I've used StatPlanet for a couple of maps and found the Excel data editor remarkably easy to use...until today. Everything I try, including the 'data example for import worldmap' sample spreadsheet included with the zipped download gives me a "The following headers or variables could not be identified" message and then the FULL list of countries (in reverse order). Hi, |
Data.csv files. | 8 years 6 months ago |
Call me a dolt, but how do you get the StatPlanet.exe viewer to "open" datafiles other than the default data.csv file that's in the file folder. I've made several World maps using the editor that I want to show people, but I can't open any but the most recent in the data.csv file. My "Open" is always grayed out. This is the free download version of StatPlanet. |

I am trying to import a straightforward Excel file that has 4 indicators, 4 dates, and several countries. When I import, no matter what dates I put in or what format the dates are in (number, text, date), the dates are all stripped and replaced with "2007" following the import. My dates happen to be month specific. I thought perhaps that was a problem so I experimented, replacing all dates with just years (fake, of course, which is undesireable). Still, every year got stripped out and replaced with "2007" (which isn't in my data set). I've also run tests where I... |
