Setup Map Issue

I have created a US county map.  When selecting the Setup Map file option, the columns headings are not properly updated.  Is this due to a column number restriction? If so, any workaround? Thanks.

Hi,
You can have around 16,000 columns so that shouldn't be the issue (as long as you are using StatPlanet Plus - and not StatPlanet Lite?). Would you be able to clarify what you mean with the column headings not being updated? Are they only partially updated or not at all? Which version of Excel are you using? You could also try updating them manually. This would require you to copy the column headers from the map.dbf file into the StatPlanet Data Editor. The 'map ID' headers need to be copied into the sheet 'data', and the the 'map names' headers need to be copied into the sheet 'Import'. (in some cases the IDs and the names may be the same).
For bypassing the StatPlanet Data Editor altogether, please see 'Instructions for loading shapefiles without using Excel' in the user guide (http://www.statsilk.com/files/resources/User_Guide_StatPlanet.htm#_Toc34...).

Excel 2003.  I did follow the steps in user guide but the Indonesia headings still remain in file after running.  I get out of range error from the macro.

It could be due to the version of Excel. Have you tried following the manual setup instructions?

Don't believe I am going to enter 3100 counties manually.  I'm off to Google Maps.

Hi,
I didn't mean entering data manually, but setting up the map manually. It should take around 2 to 5 minutes.
