optional colors for map regions/groups

I've managed to add a 'grouping' level within statplanet like the USA/World example demos and this appears to be working fine.  However, when I tried to add a color coding for the bubbles in the scatter plot graph (as descried in the user manual) it does not appear to work.  I've tried various options and cross-checked against the settings in the US/World demos which have the color coding option working but can't figure out why my one doesn't.  I was wondering if there might be another option to switch on to enable this?
ps: i am using the hex color specification

Hi,
Which code are you using to add the colors? It needs to be in the format '0xffffff' as in the example (0x followed by the color code), and in the 'COLOR' column. Another reason why it might not show up is if a country/state is in two groups (map regions), with different colors codes. It can only have one color assigned, so this could also be the issue. You may also wish to check the settings.csv file to see if the colors are correctly specified here.

Hi,
I tried as you suggested but still no joy.  The actual drop-down menu on the flash presentation seems to be working fine.  It is still the colours which all default to the same blue color regardless of which hex code I put in in the COLOR column. I wonder if my problem has something to do with the map regions not being correctly set? - when I look at the settings tab, the drop-down list on row 5, col 2 only shows 'all regions' and not the map regions that are specified under the 'Map regions' tab.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,
It is only the scatter plot bubbles which change color, not the bar charts - are the scatter plot bubbles all blue? To color the bar chart as well, there is an options in the sheet 'settings', variable 'GR-C-CLR', to color these according to regions.
If the map regions are all in the drop-down in StatPlanet, then it looks like they are implemented correctly.
If it still doesn't work feel free to send a message via 'http://www.statsilk.com/contact', and I will contact you via e-mail so that files can be exchanged if necessary.
Best,
Frank
