The desktop versions of StatPlanet and StatTrends can be used free of charge by students, teachers and lecturers, and other staff of education and research institutions. The software is Excel-based, and can be used as an instructional tool to learn about Excel, data management, data visualization and mapping. It can also be used a presentation tool, to replace (or complement) presentations with tools such as PowerPoint or Prezi for presenting data.
Installation
The software requires no installation, so just needs to be copied onto a computer in a folder with write access (such as the desktop, or the "Documents" folder). It can also be run from a USB/Flash drive.
